About the event
The Film Festival is South Dakota’s local festival dedicated to showcasing films from around the world that highlight the talents and creativity of individuals with physical and developmental disabilities and rare diseases. Our mission is to create meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities and rare diseases to share their stories, express their creativity, and be celebrated on the BIG screen.
The festival empowers creators to lead the storytelling process, whether in front of or behind the camera, providing a platform that is often underrepresented in traditional media.
To be considered for screening, a person with a disability or rare disease must play a significant role in the production of the film. Submissions are welcome from anyone as long as this criterion is met, encouraging a wide range of voices, perspectives, and creative approaches.
By providing a platform for creators with disabilities and rare diseases, the festival not only celebrates talent…
